The goal of this document is to provide essential information to managers of PAs for the purpose of facilitating and managing sustainable tourism resources through increased competences and capacity building. The model will assist in the development of plans guiding visitation and encourage the involvement of local communities in partnership with the tourism sector. The goal is to achieve socio-economic benefits for local communities, thereby further contributing to the sustainability of PAs and the overall success of tourism products through additional certifications or quality labels, education and communication, and visitor safety.
