Kuhinjica for fulfilling gastronomic pleasures while traveling

“Good food is like music that you can taste and color that you can smell. There is excellence all around you. All you have to do is be aware, take a breather, and enjoy.”

Cooperation between USAID Turizam and Kuhinjica

According to a study conducted by USAID Turizam, the hospitality sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina will face a labor shortage of more than 8,000 workers by 2027. Through this project activity, USAID Turizam aims to educate deficitsary personnel in the hospitality sector while also promoting and preserving traditional foods, dishes, and cuisine. This activity will help to educate catering workers through informal training, and the Turizam Academy platform will be updated with 50 new short clips demonstrating some of the fundamental skills of a good chef.

Kuhinjica courses as proof that local communities are the most important tourism ambassadors!

The courses are designed for employed and unemployed people, as well as youth groups, women, and members of marginalized social groups. This project is being carried out in order to tackle the issue of a lack of human resources in the hospitality sector. This is one of the most significant challenges confronting the tourism sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it is critical to invest continuously in improving knowledge through professional training led by top chefs from local hotels and restaurants.

“We are already proud of the fact that most of the cooks either got the job or, after training, a better, higher position in the restaurant where they cook. One of them is Đorđo Batar, who currently works at the restaurant Apetito. No less valuable and appreciated is our cook, Milana Lazić, who tried her luck at Primaprom. Milan Simić from Zvornik got a job in a wedding salon, and they all plan to continue their training and education with us.”, said representatives of Kuhinjica.

Gastronomy allows us to learn about distinct people’s cultures and customs

“In our cooking school, you can learn everything from the basics to the most advanced techniques. You can also have fun, get away from everyday life, and socialize with people who share your gastronomic interests.”

Kuhanje kao novo turističko iskustvo u Banjaluci

Good food reflects the region’s culture and heritage, as well as the people who live there. The experience of sharing a meal, regardless of where it is prepared, connects us all. It brings us closer together and allows us to appreciate the art and skill that goes into food preparation.
