Bosnia and Herzegovina made a significant impact on the U.S. market following the organization of its first tourism roadshow, which took place on October 8 in New York and October 10 in Los Angeles. The event was jointly organized by USAID Turizam, the Sarajevo Canton Tourism Board, the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Turkish Airlines, with the goal of showcasing the unique tourism potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The events included engaging presentations of tourist destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a business-to-business (B2B) meeting program between travel agencies and tour operators from the U.S. and representatives of DMCs from Bosnia and Herzegovina. A total of 59 American travel advisors and tour operators participated in the roadshow, with 708 B2B meetings held in both cities.
Ten leading travel agencies from Bosnia and Herzegovina were given the opportunity to showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and attractive tourism opportunities, as well as to establish new connections and future collaborations in the U.S. market.
Turkish Airlines, as a key partner of the roadshow, further enriched the event by providing gift packages for all participants, while two lucky travel advisors received free flight tickets to Sarajevo, which further sparked interest in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a tourist destination.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina has so much to offer, yet it remains a hidden gem for many international travelers; this roadshow allowed us to connect directly with the U.S. tourism industry and share the incredible experiences our country has to offer.”
American tourists contribute significantly to revenue, and the USAID Turizam project, in collaboration with domestic and international partners, has recognized this potential and helped companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina break into this important market.
