“This country is so diverse, and no part of it is the same in terms of atmosphere, culture, food, and drink, which I really liked,” stated Czech journalist Veronika Kratochvílová, one of the participants in the “Networking Event for Tourism Professionals from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic,” held on October 25 in Sarajevo, organized by the USAID Turizam Project and Sparkasse Bank Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event brought together representatives from 25 leading tourism agencies from the Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of expanding Bosnia and Herzegovina’s tourism offerings to Czech travelers. The event was attended by the Czech Republic’s Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Jana K. Lolić Šindelková, and Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina Advisor in Prague, Amira Mujkić, who expressed satisfaction with the successful connection of businesses from these two countries.
In addition to networking opportunities and establishing new contacts, as part of the “Meet BiH” project, Czech representatives also toured some of the most significant locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This allowed them to experience the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage and its natural beauty, which is becoming increasingly appealing to the modern Czech tourist. The fam trip took them across the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, visiting locations such as Travnik, Jajce, Banja Luka, Livno, Mostar, Blagaj, Počitelj, Kravice, Trebinje, Tjentište, and Sarajevo, which marked the conclusion of the project.

“I’ve had the opportunity to travel to North Macedonia, Albania, and Bulgaria, and I thought Bosnia and Herzegovina would be similar to those countries, but I was surprised to find it’s completely different here!”
The “MeetBiH” project aims for the long-term promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an attractive destination for international tourists, contributing to the sustainable development of the country’s tourism sector. Sparkasse Bank continues to support the growth of the local tourism offering, while USAID Turizam assists in connecting Bosnia and Herzegovina with key international markets, providing an essential platform for promoting and developing the tourism sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We are pleased to see the enthusiasm of Czech agencies for Bosnia and Herzegovina, which confirms the growing potential for deepening cooperation between our tourism sectors. We plan to continue promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina as an attractive and sustainable destination for Czech visitors to increase arrivals and extend their stays.”
Following last year’s successful meeting with Austrian tour operators, this project has already shown concrete results and created new opportunities for collaboration. The “MeetBiH” initiative aims to put Bosnia and Herzegovina on the map of European tourist destinations and ensure its sustainable growth by supporting the sector through connections with strategic international partners and attracting an increasing number of visitors.
