Chris Leadbeater, an experienced journalist who writes for the Daily Telegraph, visited Sarajevo with the support of the USAID Turizam project. The purpose of his trip was to write an article about Sarajevo’s Olympic history and why Bosnia and Herzegovina is the ideal winter destination. The Telegraph is one of the most widely read British magazines, with over 4.5 million readers, and you can read an article by simply clicking the following link: https://www.pressreader.com/
From February 8 to 19, 1984, Sarajevo was the center of the world, which thrilled competitors and visitors with the beauty of the city, the surrounding mountains, and the hospitality of Sarajevo. In the years that followed, the Olympic Winter Games became an important determinant of tourism promotion, and many tourists associate their first memories of Sarajevo with the XIV Winter Olympic Games. Today, all interested visitors have the opportunity to visit the Olympic Museum. See what the interior of the museum looks like and what all the available contents are.
Chris Leadbeater’s trip to Sarajevo was coordinated and supported by USAID Turizam. Chris Leadbeater spoke with competitors of the XIV Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo, members of the management of the Olympic Museum, and visited the Jure Franko mountain hut on Trebević during his stay. He also had the opportunity to sample traditional cuisine and engage in workshops on traditional dish making. You may hear impressions in the following videos.
