The town of Konjic and its surroundings continue to develop into one of the most significant regional centers for adventure tourism! The latest addition to Konjic’s adventure infrastructure is the first Via Ferrata training platform in Bosnia and Herzegovina and an artificial climbing wall with a suspension bridge. These were constructed with the support of the U.S. Government within the Visit Konjic Outdoor Center, located in the Bijela Valley at the foot of Mount Prenj. With this enriched offering, the stay of international visitors in Konjic and Bosnia and Herzegovina is extended, ensuring sustainability and a positive impact on the local community.
“Guests who come to Konjic for rafting, hiking, or cycling decide to try something new, such as climbing and Via Ferrata. These sports are becoming increasingly popular in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world,” stated Amela Bubalo, co-owner of the Visit Konjic Agency.
In addition to the new infrastructure, the Visit Konjic agency has developed new innovative tours such as camping, team building, or nature school, which have already piqued the attention of local and international tourists.
“I’m glad that this season we could offer our international guests from the UK an extra day or two. It’s a new market we are proud of because, in collaboration with the USAID Turizam project, we had the opportunity to organize several fam trips in the last year, and the positive outcomes have already been visible in 2023.”

Over the next few years, there are plans for gradual expansion of the Visit Konjic Outdoor Center, including the construction of bungalows, a glamping zone, and other facilities, aiming to establish Konjic as one of the leading global destinations for adventure tourism.
Visit Konjic is one of the 22 tourism companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina that received grants from the USAID Turizam project as part of the effort to position Bosnia and Herzegovina among the most vibrant and attractive global tourist destinations. This project has not only enriched the experience of adventure tourism but has also had a positive socio-economic impact, directly stimulating increased local sales and demand.
