The purpose of the Guide for Operational and Safety Standards in Adventure Tourism is to provide operators in the key segments of adventure tourism (hiking, cycling, and rafting) with clear instructions on how to implement and follow internationally recognized safety standards.
This guide will not replace the need for more restrictive and consistent regulation, such as the increased number of governmental policies that regulate adventure tourism operations, but it will provide business owners with clear instructions. In addition, the guide will not solve the problem of a lack of internationally recognized safety standards at work, but it will provide internationally recognized recommendations and criteria since it is based on international best practices.
The implementation of this guide will contribute implicitly to improved staff qualification, an increase in the number of internationally certified guides, safer and ecofriendly experiences, a cleaner and more protected environment, and improved product quality in adventure tourism. As a result, Bosnia and Herzegovina will enhance its international reputation and appeal as an ideal destination for adrenaline activities.
