With the support of the USAID Turizam project, the Grand Hotel Sarajevo successfully applied for subsidized credit line in the amount of BAM 500,000. Thanks to this financial boost, the credit line will support an overall in-vestment project by the hotel which totals BAM 1.48 million.
As part of its effors to ease access to finance in tourism sector, USAID Turizam project supported the Grand Hotel Sarajevo in its successful application for a subsidized credit line in the amount of BAM 500.000.
Following this important financial boost, the Hotel Grand Sarajevo will continue to fully implement an investment project worth BAM 1.48 million.
With this investment, the hotel will add new facilities such as swimming pools, spas, fitness centers, and other luxurious amenities that will elevate the hotel to a four star category and high-level quality of service.
The USAID Turizam project played a dual role in this process. First, the process of applying for loans was complex and required a detailed and well-prepared application; thus, USAID Turizam secured professional consultancy for Grand Hotel Sarajevo. Secondly, USAID Turizam played a significant role in facilitating the realization of a subsidized credit line fully covered by the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism (FMoET) and the Development Bank of FBiH.
Following this financial boost, USAID Turizam, along with partners FMoET and the Development Bank of FBiH, initiated a series of practical workshops to support tourism enterprises with interest-free loans. These workshops enabled tourism representatives to obtain all the necessary information and advice for a successful application. The workshops will continue to be held across the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, promoting successful investment stories in the tourism sector.
Through this collaboration, USAID Turizam, FMoET, and the Development Bank of FBiH demonstrate their commitment to continuous support for the private sector in leading the prosperous future of the tourism sector by finding effective financial solutions and specialized financial lines.
