Women’s Empowerment Principles – WEPs, ensure a holistic work framework for companies in promoting gender equality and strengthening the role of women in the workplace, the labor market and the community, thereby encouraging positive changes and results within society and business performance.
These principles are founded in 2010 within the framework of the work of the UN Women and UN Global Compact organizations, and are aligned with international labor and human rights standards. The WEPs are promoting companies that have an important role and responsibility for gender equality promotion and women’s empowerment. Simultaneously, it is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for exchanging experiences and lessons learned regarding the relationship between gender equality and corporate success, which allows for advancement and continuous monitoring of results.
